India's garment exports declined slightly

India's Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) released data show that 2009-10 will be India's garment exports fell by 2.64% to $ 10.64 billion, compared with exports of $ 10.93 billion for the last fiscal year. As rupee terms, the growth of just 0.37%.2009-10 the total garment exports 50,479 crore, 50,293 crore in contrast ,2008-2009. However, in dollar terms, except for July 8 and November ,2009-10 month exports have declined substantially. The president of the Apparel Export Promotion Council of India, said Mr Prem Udani, the apparel industry has encountered an unprecedented rise in yarn and fabric.The past four months of basic raw materials prices rose whopping 50-80%.The textile industry just to show signs of recovery, but also because of the high prices of raw materials as well as the sources of instability and falling into the bleak situation. Apparel Export Promotion Council of India asked the Government to impose a 15% cotton yarn export tax.Due to the rapid development of domestic demand for fabric and yarn, exports of raw materials such as cotton, cotton yarn led to domestic loss of millions of jobs.The exports of raw materials should be discouraged as soon as possible. Mr Udani also asked to cancel 16% of the yarn import tariffs. India's share in reducing global apparel market share.Bangladesh garment exports have more than India.Next year, Vietnam will catch up with India.
